Mae Weibling was born on December 9, 1878 in Robinson, Kansas.
She was the third (or fourth) child born to Joshua and Mary (Glenn)Weibling.

We think she was a twin to Marion.
Mae could have gone by the name Mary May, but it is said that
everyone called her "Maimie".

(We have a postcard that she sent to her brother Marion, dated September 1, 1908.  She signed the postcard as "May")

She was raised by a couple named McNatt.
There is little known as to why she stayed with them.

Mae always spoke of the McNatts with affection, so we can assume she was loved and treated well.

The 1920 Census for Powhattan, KS shows a married Walter and Mae (Weibling) Forbes having a 71 year old boarder named Welton McNatt living with them. We can only surmise that Mae was returning the care to an elderly McNatt that she had been given as a child.

Mae and her husband Walter Forbes, (b. 1874) had two children.
Cecil Forbes and Clarence Forbes (b. 1905).

Walter was a butcher in Valley Falls, KS. When his arm had to be amputated, (due to infection of an untreated puncture injury on his left hand), They bought a farm, because he could no longer do butchering (like farming was easier?!). They lost, or left, the farm and moved to California.

Walter passed in 1943 and was buried in Goleta Cemetery, (California).

She married Ernest Rodwick about 1954, under the name Mae Forbes.
Her Ggrandson, (Greg Cope) remembers Ernest being a ventriloquist, and being very funny.

Mae passed away on December 29, 1961 and was laid to rest in Goleta Cemetery (Alameda, California) under the name Mae Rodwick, next to Walter Forbes, but she has no marker.

(Thanks to cousin Greg for the photos and information on Mae)
