| Margaret Eileen was born in 1919 in St. Joseph, Mo. She was
adopted as a baby, by Ed and Oeetah (Collins) Weibling. She was the couple's first child.
She grew up in Robinson, Kansas, with her parents and her three brothers. It is said Eileen's mother always added hand crocheted lace to all her dresses and kept her hair neat and curled. Her mother must have taught her to be a lady as well, because Eileen was one of the sweetest people you could ever hope to meet. She never spoke a bad word about anyone and always seemed to have a smile for everyone. Eileen was not only beautiful on the outside, but was beautiful on the inside as well. She married Lewis Ray Merrick. They had three children together:
