Ida Bell was born March 2, 1866 in Robinson, Kansas. She was the youngest of seven children born to Charles and Louisa Weibling.

She married Ed Van Liew. He worked as a security guard at the Second National Bank in Kansas City.

Ida Bell and Ed never had children, but she and her husband built a house in 1909, on the 640 acres her parents farmed. The house still stands today, and it is occupied by Weibling cousins.

Ida Bell passed away January 12, 1940, and is buried with her husband and very near her parents in Robinson, Kansas.
