Richard M. Weibling
Services for Richard Max Weibling, 71,
Plattsburg, Mo., will be at 1p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church, Plattsburg, Mo.
Burial will be in the Wadsworth National Cemetary. Leavenworth, Kan. Friends may
call from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church. The family suggests memorials to
the First Baptist Church, Plattsburg, the Heartland Hospice and the American Cancer
Society. The Cox Funeral Home, Plattsburg, is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Weibling died Friday, Nov. 27, 1998, at the home. He was born April 22, 1927, in
Robinson, Kan. He attended school in Robinson and graduated from Wyandotte High
School in Kansas City, Kan. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War receiving the
Purple Heart for wounds received in action and was also awarded the Combat Infantryman
Badge. He worked for several different companies in the Kansas City area, the Kansas
City Public Service Co., the Gustin Bacon Mfg. Co., and for the Armco Steel Co. He
was a member of the First Baptist Church, Plattsburg, Mo., the American Legion in Mason,
Texas, and was also a member of Disabled American Veterans.
His parents, three brothers, and one sister, preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Rose McCleary Weibling, of the home; one son, Ross
Weibling, Overland Park, Kan; two daughters, Cecilia Weibling, Kansas City, Mo., and
Denise Phillips, Richmond, Mo., nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

I WOULD LIKE TO THANK ALL WHO sent
cards, flowers, & food during our time of sorrow in the death of our husband, father
and grandfather. I am deeply grateful to my pastor, Robert Shelton for the beautiful
words of love and compassion; the ladies of the church for the delicious luncheon and my
church family who were there for me & my family. A special thanks to our
daughter, Denise Phillips & Rev. Edward Lewis for the music, and to our son Ross for
the beautiful Eulogy. Also to the pall bearers, The VA Medical Center, and the
Heartland Hospice in St. Joe. A special thanks to neighbors David & Pat DeMoss
and my niece & nephew, Joyce & Don Lawrence who were there for me in so many ways.
