Lucy Pingree Weibling

 

Obituary

   Miss Lucy L. Pingree was born in Hopkinton, N.H., February 23rd, 1833 and died in Westerville, March 23rd, 1901, aged 68 years and one month. She was married to Edwin Weibling Sept. 12th, 1867, at Worthington, and moved to Cleveland the same year. In 1870, they removed to Westerville, where they resided until their death. Two children, a son, Charles, of Columbus, and a daughter, who died in 1875, where the fruit of this marriage.

   Edwin Weibling, her husband, who was engaged in the undertaking business in Westerville, died Nov. 9th, 1896.
When in Cleveland both Mr. and Mrs. Weibling were members of the First M. E. Church and brought their letters to Westerville, but never presented them to any church.

   Besides her son Charles, she leaves to mourn her loss, two sisters, Mrs. Mary Thorndike of Westerville, and Mrs. Sarah Hooker of Omaha, Neb.
She was connected with a large family of Pingrees, of whom Gov. Pingree, of Michigan, is most widely known. Her husband was a half brother to our respected citizen Miles Weibling.

   The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. L. F. John at her late residence Friday, March 29th, at 2 o'clock.
